Jeffrey Ambrose-Biography

There have been many reasons and influences that have helped push and inspire me to step behind a camera. I guess it all started as a kid when my older brother used to push, and sometimes drag me into 'our' wasatch mountains, just out the back door. There we both learned to love, respect, and admire nature; to find solitude away from the forced distractions in our lives. The second would be a very supportive wife, who always encourages me to develop and share my talents with others. She is always excited to participate in the next adventure, even if it means living out of our truck.

I remember one summer while photographing in the mountains of Canada, lying on my back looking up at the cloud filled sky, taking in the clean air, and thinking I wish I could do this everyday. A few months later I officially started Ambrose Landscape Photography in an attempt to make that dream a reality. Although I do not get to spend everyday in the Canadian Rockies, I do have the luxury of living the shadow of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains of Utah and have the ability to photograph everyday.

Every photographer has their own vision and purpose for expressing their art. Mine is and has always been very simple. To capture more than just a photograph, but to capture the feelings and mood associated with my surroundings. As you view my work, I hope you feel my images, not just see them.

Images by Jeffrey are sold as high quality prints, and have been used by many different organizations, including the US and Canadian National Park Services, Utah Travel Council, and Film Commission. His work has also been used and donated to support local and national environmental organizations in the fight to preserve our wild lands. Jeffrey has also self published a book "Dance Across the Mountains" which explores the Rocky Mountains from Utah up through Alaska.
